So I start with a loud happy Fourth of July! Hope you all had a great one. Mine was sorta lowkey but that’s all good. I loved it all the same.
For the most part, that is. I have a quick update, sad news… well, for me. Excuse me if I get choked up a little….
Last night, Matt was voted off So You Think You Can Dance. I know, I know. He was taken too soon. I hear you loud and clear especially after an awesome solo but… I shall try to move on. My new male favorite is Gev Manoukian. He’s so cute, I just want to pinch his cheeks.
I also think it important to note that Fayetteville, North Carolina is officially the third worst place to live in the country according to a recent nationwide survey. So… I’m not all that surprised. Sadly. But, hey, only a couple years left and we can leave and move to one of the best.
Okay, totally not prepared with a song so let me peruse my files real quick for one that everyone should hear…. Ah! Got one! Great song, nostalgic. If you don’t know it, you’re not American.
We all know it. We all love it. Its “Pure Imagination” from Willy Wonka. And quick note, the actual song doesn’t start until about a minute into the video.
So thats it. I didn’t have much to say today. I will talk to you hip cats later!
Haley! I’m having trouble getting the header up. It keeps saying it doesn’t meet security standards. I don’t know. And we’ve been arguing at work, and I think you can answer it since they’re your favorite. Is Panic! At The Disco Emo? I like your blog. I’m thinking about doing the song thing or something like it on my blog also. You have inspired me. I did just make a song post. Wow, I just realized how long of a comment this was. Sorry. See ya later.
How are you going about trying to put it on your page? I tried it on mine earlier and it worked somehow. Now, I don’t really consider Panic at the Disco emo but I have a hard time trying to interpret just what ‘emo’ really is. If you take Panic, Weezer, and Underoath and say that they are somehow all the same genre of music then you have a problem. I guess going off the general definition of the word, maybe on their last album they could have been emo but I don’t see them being anywhere near it anymore. Their songs are happy, they’re upbeat, they have this nostalgic 70’s Beatles feel to them. Totally not emo. And awesome! Yay for inspiration. I’m still working on my groove but I’ll find it eventually. Thanks!
Neil… Haley… Emo, Panic, Weezer? Whatever became of “Rock, Country, and Soul?” I know it wasn’t a perfect system. Sure, John Denver was considered a Pop/Rock artist, and everyone wanted to claim Elvis, but it kept the awards shows simple. Panic at the Diso? Of course, Donna Summer, Lionel Ritchie, Abba, and the Bee Gees are all out trying to figure out what kind of music they sing.
Do me a favor… send me an updated manual before I say something totally goofy in front of some twenty year olds. Its tough trying to stay groovy when you get past 30.
Love you both… glad I have you to keep me “hip.”
